Default Rambo HD DVD Import, any impressions?

I was thinking of ordering the Australian or French version. Just wondering about picture quality before I dish out the cash.

The Blu Ray version in USA was absolutely Horrible!!

I am a huge fan of this movie....

Pretty soft.

It has it's moments but overall it's kind of blah.

the french version is kinda known to be mediocre. I'd go for or at least search for reviews on the Australian version.

Rambo II looks really good, about as good as one can reasonably expect from a 20 year old movie. First Blood is a little disappointing, but it beats the heck out of the DVD.

Do you know how it compares to the BluRay?

I have the German HD DVD version which looks pretty damn good. The only problem is that in some scenes at the beginning of the movie there's this horrible focus where mostly the center of the screen is sharp but the corners are seriously blurred. But that only lasts for about 5-10 minutes. It doesnt really distract from the movie though.

It seems like Xploited is the best place to order these from.

I just got this from Film Talk message board: Rambo:
Trilogy from Studio Canal in France on 2/26/08

Box set and, maybe, new transfers? Hope for the possibility!
