Default Curse of the Golden Flower (English audio) and Taxi 4 in Poland

New HD DVDs in Poland. One is Blu-ray exclusive, the other doesn't have a distributor in the US, so it could be BD-exclusive, as well.

Specs and infos:
Curse of the Golden Flower [HD DVD]
Taxi 4 [HD DVD]

According to that link, Curse of the Golden Flower has only an English dub and a Polish voice-over track (which is where the movie's original soundtrack plays with Polish translators speaking on top of it). It does not have an option for watching the original Mandarin soundtrack with English subtitles.

These have already been listed and discussed in the import thread here;

Great news on the English audio though, we needed confirmation last week.

Well, this entry doesn't included original language, whereas www.area-hd.de lists Mandarin.

It's a shame about the lack of English subs, but good to see the Mandarin Audio listed.

I guess we still need Universal UK to get off their workshy arses and get the damn thing released. The last time I emailed them though, they weren't even thinking about about doing it.

They're also sitting on True Lies and Strange Days, both of which they distributed in the UK and beyond across various home formats.

To be honest, unless HD DVD really takes off in the UK, I really don't think that Uni UK will release anything that Uni US doesn't release first. And since the US rights belong to Sony...

I see. Looks like they've updated the page since I last checked. Still no English subtitles, unfortunately.

Universal hasn't released anything unique in Japan either so far. Only some of the same movies that are already available in the U.S.

Hopefully they will start releasing their Japan unique content at some point, for example they released Kill Bill vol. 1 and 2 on DVD here. I guess the current market size is not big enough for that right now.
