Default SORRY - Mine was an isolated incident

My add-on no longer works after I updated to the new firmware 4634.0 that went up yesterday or so.

I'm pretty pissed. It played for a short time (about a half hour), then froze up. Now I get either a "can't read disc error" or, when I DO get it to play, it stutters on the main menus and stutters during playback (horrible skipping), then will freeze up.

I tried several different HD DVD's on it, from Warner and Universal. It also won't read dvd's or cd's.

Guys, I suggest you don't download it. I may just be having a hardware issue, but it was working fine until I downloaded the update.

EDIT by Blurry: The OP had me close this thread with the following note: It seems like my situation was an isolated incident, and I've already contacted MS. I don't want others thinking that they shouldn't download the update.

I had somethin similar happen with the last update. I think it's just an isolated incident and probably just bad timing. Sorry to hear your add-on's messed up.

I downloaded it and it worked fine initially as well. Then the problems started. It may be an isolated incident, but I wouldn't be so confident if I were you guys. The thing worked fine for me initially, even if I still have no idea what it was supposed to do.

Does anyone know if there's a separate number for the add-on support, or am I supposed to call the 8004myxbox number?

Is it a new update today?

If you are talking about the update back in May, I have had no problems.

Same thing happened to me.

-----------

I think the new update nerfed my add-on.

I updated just fine this morning and then turned it off.

Decided to watch some Terminator 2 and within the first 10 minutes the disc starts going crazy. I pop it out and there's gigantic (I don't know how to describe it) scuff marks all around the inner ring of my HD-DVD.

I'm positive they weren't there before hand.

Thankfully after buffing it with a wet cloth, they all came off but I'm hesitate to put another disc in.

------------

Happy ending:

After talking to 4 different people, I finally got them to fix it for free (fuck paying 69.99)

Only thing I have to do is mail it to them.

Planet Earth seems to work fine, so it definitely seems to be a firmware issue and not a hardware issue.
