Default Help with Toshiba A1 Audio set-up

Do you get the DD+ when connecting with coax from the player to the receiver,
or do I need to use the 5.1 jacks on my HK AVR240?If I have to use these jacks
for the best sound where do I plug my Sub jack into,it is currently plugged into the 5.1 jacks?Just a little confusing any help would be great.I have the Bose series 3 speakers.

You will not get DD+ over COAX or Optical. The player converts the audio to both those connections.

If your receiver supports it then I recommend connecting the 5.1 analog outputs from the player to the multi-channel inputs of the receiver. This will allow the player to decode the DD+ and TrueHD signal to your receiver. This is how I have my -A1 connected to my Yamaha V2500. Sounds great!

I used the coax connect first that sounded great. Then connected using 5.1 analog to the 6 channel direct on my receiver, but it sounded undynamic with weak bass.So I am not sure what to do now.Is the new dd+ worth the weaker sound? There is no way to adjust the bass on my
hk avr240 when connected to 6 channel direct.

Try adjusting your speaker settings from the Audio portion of the Setup menu on the Toshiba.

Are you using a seperate powered sub?

Don't you need the firmware 2.0 update to receive the better sound quality of the 5.1 analog, including the sub giving some serious power? Through the optical/coax I get some serious boom, but through the analogs I have to turn it up high. I was under the impression you needed the firmware for the analog to put out the best sound possible, so I'm waiting for the disc in the mail arriving hopefully within the week.

Firmware version 2.0 provided for TrueHD in 5.1. Firmware versions below 2.0 still allow for DD+ in 5.1 over analog/HDMI and TrueHD 2.0 over analog/HDMI.

The player will decode DD+/TrueHD to PCM over HDMI to your amp/receiver (unless your amp/receiver supports HDMI 1.3, which, at this time there aren't any that I'm aware of.)

Question, I have a 7.1 set up with my Pioneer 1015.

I use analog connections.

Now when I do so, It appears that my rears come up to my side surrounds as opposed to my back surrounds. Any idea how to rectify ?
