Default Dolby TrueHD vs. DTS

I've ordered the Onkyo 805 and a buddy of mine is telling me that I'm out of my mind wasting money on a new receiver and that it is not going to make a difference. Can anyone here who has actually heard TrueHD or any of the next gen audio formats tell me that it is that much better than DTS or Dolby Digital. Bottom Line is the receiver worth upgrading?

In short, YES Dolby TrueHD and PCM 5.1 are much much better than regular DD or DTS. I assume your friend doesn't have a receiver that can decode these next gen audio formats right? It's worth the upgrade, trust me.

No. I think he's jealous.

Thanks Neutral, that's music to my ears.
