Default Xbox HD DVD vga cable..

So i picked up the vga adapter for my xbox 360 so i can get 1080p and upconverting dvds... only thing is on my tv in order to get audio i need to plug the white and red audio cables into an adapter that looks like a headphone jack... Isn't this going to make the audio quality crap???

not only that but i have to manually adjust the image to fit the tv... it's horrible.

Problem is it doesn't fit very well. You only have 3 options. Move left / right, Move up / down, / Or a generic bigger or smaller. At least on my tv... you can't manually size the left / right/ and top / bottom. So i can't get the image to fit perfectly.

Widescreen movies look so jacked up. The black bars at the top and bottom of my widescreen tv are double the width that they should be. Not worth the trouble at all going to return it tommorow.

Well as far as I'm aware, sticking the red and white cables into a headphone jack shouldn't really make too much difference - you should still get stereo sound.

I bought a VGA cable as well and it looked like garbage. It was off center and the resolution was terrible. I think my monitor must not accept 1080i from VGA.

Here is a dumb question: Is VGA the same as RGB? I hear all this talk about VGA, but the only thing on my tv (LG 37" LCD HDTV) is a RGB input. By the way, I just got my HD add-on yesterday and King Kong looks 10x better than my "regular" dvd player.

VGA is the same connection that is used on computers (along with DVI). VGA usually has a blue casing around it. Here is what the input needs to look like.

Many TVs also have these inputs.

For my TV I also have to use the adapter for the "headphone" jack.

I'm using the VGA adapter connected to a second generation Pioneer Plasma (PD-502) running at 720p and I'm VERY happy with the results. The picture fills the screen as I'd expect and movies like "Kong" make it look like I've just upgraded my TV big time

I'm using the optical connection for sound and I'm very happy with that too, given so many reports elsewhere about loss of volume.
