Default Toshiba announced some new HD DVD/HDD recorder models for Japan

Toshiba announced some new HD DVD/HDD recorder models to be launched to Japan market in late June:

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...2/toshiba2.htm

RD-A600 (600 GB HD) and RD-A300 (300 GB HD).

Prices are expected to be just below 200 000 yen for the higher end model and around 150 000 yen for the cheaper model.

This may be a good way to get more HD DVD support to Japanese homes
The earlier HD DVD/HDD recorder RD-A1 that is available from Toshiba is a very high end and expensive model with 1000 GB HD so these new ones would certainly be able to sell in bigger volumes.
