Default Should I take this Deal on the 360 HD-DVD Drive?

At my local Gamecrazy, they have a HD-DVD player for the 360 used for 130 dollars. I was wondering if I should take this deal. Whats the quality of the Add on? (Note: It comes with a remote and King Kong)

If you have a the right TV set to use it with (at least 720p) is definitely a good purchase as entry point into the Hi Def world: I have bought mine (at 199 euro , about 260 USD... for sure Europeans are getting the worse out of this crazy exchange rate nowadays ) and I have being enjoying my Hi Def movies (about 30 titles) since then without problems (but my 360 has being regulary updated so bear that in mind). If you connect the 360 through the VGA cable you get as a bonus a great upscaling feature for your standard DVD, while having a good low noise drive (better than the original drive of the console in my opinion)...

The choice of movies for the moment is not huge (Blu-ray is a bit better when it comes to recent flicks) but is getting better: regardless on which (if any) format is going to win this format "war" (god I hate that word! ) up today you already have at least 150 movies you can purchase (some of them really great !)

I hope it helps...

I'd say take it, I bought the add-on about a week ago and love it. King Kong looks really good, and for a 130 bones its a steal! YOu can always take it back if there's something wrong with it.

I have both the addon and the A20 and i will say for a $200.00 add on is very good, While i am having issues with the ultimate edition of the matrix the rest of my movies all 18 of them work perfect.

IF you own an Xbox AND you have a HDTV, then YES that's a great value. It may not be the absolute best, but the picture is perfect, the audio is ok (as good as you can get over Optical TOS) and is a minimal risk if HD DVD doesn't end up the winner. You'll always have the Xbox hooked up, so you'll always be able to watch HD DVDs no matter what happens.

As everyone has mentioned, for $130 you'd be crazy not to get it. And not only does it make your 360 an HD DVD player, it can also be used as a USB HD DVD drive for your PC. So it's 2 things in one, and is well worth the investment. You won't be disappointed
