Default Toshiba HD-XA2's RS-232C, anyone here use it?

I can't seem to find the Cable for the RS-232C. Before I go further/out of my way to look, what exactly does this do?

RS232 is a serial port. Useful for controlling a device when it is out of site. If you have tivo for instance you will see that it can control a STB using IR or RS232.
