Default HELP!!!! Toshiba HD-A2 and Verizon DSL

I have a Toshiba HD-A2 and Verizon DSL and am trying to update the firmware from 1.3 to 1.5. No matter what i try i cannot get the player to download the new firmware. I have all my DHCP settings set to on and all of the numbers are there. I have even tried changing all of the cables and all i get is can't find out server. Called support for both Toshiba and Verizon and they were no help at all.Am i missing something? Please help me out if you can. Thank you for any help.

I can't speak for DSL as I have cable, but it took me 3 times before it would work. Most likely it was something I did, not the players fault. Try once more and slowley follow the owners book and make sure everything is filled out wherever you can put information into. Almost all of my stuff was inputed automatically by my server when I hooked it up which made it easier. Also, in step #6 in the owners book ( page 45 ) make sure you select CONFIRM, then press OK. If all else fails, call Toshiba and get the 1.5 disc. Good luck

I think the issue you guys are experiencing has more to do with overload on the toshiba's download site. I am really tempted to run a packet sniffer and determine where the real download is. It is odd though that Toshiba will not just provide an ISO download.

Yes! Double thanks!

I live out in the boonies and have always updated via the ethernet port - with fingers crossed that I've remembered to take any disk out of the tray, my satellite internet service doesn't crap out halfway through, the creek don't rise and the electricity stays on.

Downloading the ISO file should be a lot faster and less risky.
