Default A-20 Now officially available at Circuit City!

This player arived at all the DFW Circuit City stores this week. I took back my A-2 and they let me exchange it but of course I had to pay the difference and they took off the UPC Label. The said some people were taking advantage of the free movies and toshiba asked them to remove the label if someone exchanged a player. Some guy did it over 8 times is what the salesperson said.

Anyway The A-20 has an amazing picture-right out of the box. The Thing and the Last Samuri picture quality seemed to be 20% better than the A2. Maybe it was just me but I think it is well worth the extra $100 for this unit.

That's good to know. I sold my A2 on ebay and plan on buying the A20 next week.

Were you using 1080p (which the a2 can't do)? Just wondering...somehow I find it hard to believe that similar hardware could put out that much better PQ over a slightly lower model.

And what aspect of the PQ are we talking about here?

Could be the TV sets as well. I hooked up the A2 to my Wega never to my Bravia. But I had the Add On to my Bravia and can tell a 20% better pic compared to the add on on the bravia and/or the A2 on the Wega. I really don't feel the progression is very good on my Bravia and that an outside source looks much better.

Upscaling is top notch on this player as well. I put in Casino and my wife thought it was HD. I will compare the BD to the A20 upscale next week.

Sorry 1080p on the Sony 46" and 1080i on the Sony 50". Many have said that 1080i and 1080p are not that big of a difference the the human eye at certain viewing distances but I walk by my 1080p within 2 feet all the time and yes you can see a difference. I would say that with my glasses I see a difference at 7 to 8 feet and less. My viewing distance is right at the mark. Some of the quality is probably due to the Add on and the other display.
