Default I also have a problem with my Toshiba HD-A3 - Stuck on Welcome

I did not check my manual before having my Toshiba A3 get the update from the internet and download it. I had a disc in the unit when I began this process. I saw it loading 1/39, 2/39, etc. until it was done. After powering down and restarting the unit just sits there with "Welcome" on the display. It will not boot up and I cannot get the disc out of the unit. I have tried the 10 second power down then click open disc button but it just sits there. I have also tried unplugging the unit overnight - no change. I removed the top and front of the unit and did not see any pinholes to eject the drive.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Sometimes they are just broke and you have to send it back.

I have heard unplugging it and then plugging it back in might work....worth giving it a try.

Default well you blew it

you cannot have a disc in it while updating online...there is only 5 ver updates not 1/39 2/39.etc..should be 1 of 5 2of 5..etc...you have to send player back to toshiba....next time update via disc ..not internet

Unplug it from the wall for a bit. Also, disconnect the ethernet cable. I had trouble also, until I pulled the ethernet and then it booted fine.

Default the disc inside is the real issue

don't know why..but it clearly states make sure you do not have a disc in tray when updating via internet
