Wow, assuming they still honor the 5 free mail-in rebates this is a great deal. Even if the format is soon to die with the limited releases coming out.

$50 is not bad, just not worth it in my eyes for that player. I would invest in another

I would absolutely buy one of these if I could get it to work with my 24-inch iMac. I should poke around and see if there's a way of doing it in OS X (I seem to recall reading that people had it working in Windows).

CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra will play HD DVD. You have to run bootcamp to use this software.

Will only work with an Intel based iMac however.

The reason to get one of these is to hook it up to a PC and when blu-ray media is cheap you can rip your HD DVD's and re-burn them to blu-ray. Your investment in HD DVD's are preserved. Blank blu-ray media won't be >$15 forever...
