Default HD-A35 1080p/24 output

How is the 1080p/24 output from the HD-A35? I have read that the HD-A20 and HD-A30 did a poor job with 1080p material and you were usually better off with 1080i, letting the TV do the deinterlacing.

The 1080p/24 output on the A20, XA2, A30 and A35 should be identical with the latest firmware. The player should just read in the 1080p/24 from the disc and then send it out as 1080p/24 to the TV unprocessed.

The problem with the A20, A30 and the A35 for 1080p/60 is that they have to do the whole 1080p/24 -> 1080i/60 -> 1080p/60 conversion and the last step is done incorrectly.

Apparently the XA2 is the only one that will do the 1080i/60 -> 1080p/60 correctly thanks to the Reon chip.

I'm sending it out to an external video processor, so if possible I would like to send it unprocessed. I am using an HD-A1 now, sending 1080i to my processor. Apparently my processor (Gennum VXP) converts everything to 1080p then converts it back to 1080i for output to my TV, which is one of the early 1080p sets that would only accept a 1080i signal. I like the processor for the picture controls more than anything else, but I imagine it does some good things with the signal, too.

I have my PS3 set to send out 1080p 24 to the processor, which eliminates a processing step. Do you think sending the processor a 1080p/24 signal from the HD-A35 would yield a noticeable improvement over the HD-A1?

How are the DACs in the A35? The HD-A1 uses Burr-Browns and it sounds fantastic.

What kind of TV do you have? I recently got a XA2 to replace my A20 and the 1080p/24fps to a 120hz TV is identical and looks amazing. The 1080p/24fps looks as good as it does coming out of the PS3-if this helps.
