I'm having problems with it. I couldn't get 1.2 (got my hd-a2 tuesday) but I went to avs and mirrored it (instrcutions in another thread about 1.3 update). But still no ethernet to get 1.3 so they are sending a disc.

Iggytx, if you have 1.2 installed you really should have no trouble at all getting 1.3 via the ethernet. Lets talk some more about your settings. If your ethernet still doesnt work you should really consider exchanging the unit before your return/exchange window closes.

What excatly is your message that you are getting from the player ?

Today I finally followed the steps you were helping me out with in the post I had (refer to Ahhhh!! HD-A2) and I seem to have everything up to date now. It has the 1.3 update, I haven't watched anything yet, but I'm sure the fixes are there.

Thanks again (you should have a sticky thread: Maxx_75s firmware assistance).

I am glad to have been of help. The whole firmware issue on the A-2 is a big issue because of the bug in the launch firmware. I myself only finally got 1.3 last night because I couldnt get the .iso to burn. LOL

Should get you to 1.2, and then reset all your settings, and connect to ethernet for 1.3.

The 1.3 upgrade has been said to fix the compatibility issue in the XA2, and Universal's Hollywoodland was mentioned specifically. I could sometimes play Hollywoodland before but since upgrading, I can't play it at all. I've talked to members of other forum and their siutuation is the same. I would like to know where HiDef Digest got this information. This upgrade, sadly, does not address this issue, at least for all of us. I called Toshiba and their explanation was that it had something to do with the fact that it was a combo disc. Anyone else hear anything?

I couldn't get 1.3 to work till I burned the ISO for 1.2 and after that I had no issue with updating via ethernet
