Default Is the HD A30 worth $200

It comes with 9 free movies, and Im hoping the war lasts at least the rest of the year to make it worth it...Is this system 1080p or 1080i?

I have a PS3 and buy Blu ray movies, but Paramount and Universal takes up 75% of my DVD library, and I dont want to wait till this war is over so its worth it just to pay 200 dollars well, 150 because I have a 20% off HD DVD players. so they player plus I get

Transformers
Bourne Identity
Bourne Ultimatum
300
Italian Job
Hulk
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Firewall
Troy

All for free

Pardon my ignorance here....but me upgrading from the A2 to A30 just cause it's 1080p is no help if I don't have an appropriate TV to show 1080p right.

I don't remember all the specs offhand, but I have a Samsung 42" plasma that's about a year old. I don't belive it's 1080p............or does it matter?

Any clarification would be well appreciated.

Dude believe me, it's worth it. The war is still going to last a long time unless Paramount or Universal switch which both recently have said they are going to stick with hd dvd

Theyre gonna fold, but it will be a while...Longer than BLU ray fanatics think.

the a30 is good but i noticed the other night i played 10 movies w/o a hitch and then i played face/off and it started to break up (like hd TV does) and then froze but only on the same scene(20min into movie) but funny thing is on my 360 add-on it does not freeze. so that worries me on this player now
