Default Should I Return My Sony Upscaling DVD Player and Purchase The A3 or A30 or A35

I currently have the Panasonic DMP-BD30 blu-ray player, Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver, and I bought the Sony DVP-NS77H a few days ago. I was looking at the Oppo DV-980H over at amazon.com and for about $30 cheaper I can get the A3, but for $1 more than the Oppo DV-980H I can get the A30. Right now I am leaning towards the A35 over the A3 and A30, because I heard that it has better DVD upscaling, and I can bitstream the new audio formats. I have a few questions on the A35 and the A30 before I make my decision.
1. Is the A35 worth the extra money over the A30?
2. Does the A30 and A35 have the same dvd upscaling chip and same pq?
3. If HD-DVD becomes dead in a few months (no offence for HD-DVD owners) will the A30 and A35 have good resale value as dvd upconverting players?
4. I will use either unit as a dvd upcoverter. Do you think it would be a waste of money to use the A30 or A35 just to watch dvd movies?
5. I read reviews for the A30 and A35, the reviews commented that the dvd deinterlacing and scaling was ver poor. Is it true about the dvd deinterlacing and scaling?

1) the A35 benifits over the A30 are
................................................ 7.1 Audio over HDMI vs 5.1 for the A30
................................................ 5.1 analog output vs 2 channel out for the A30

2) I'm not sure but I believe they do

3) Unknown

4) No it would not be a waste to use them to watch DVD's but why don't you just use your Panasonic DMP-BD30 since it also can do DVD upscaling

5) I am not sure, I have heard it both ways

By the way your Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver can also be used to upcovert DVD's as it will take in the 480i/p and send out a 1080i/p via HDMI

I think the A35 is a better upscaler but that is my opinion.
I think the extra money for A35 is worth it and even if it is only to use at as an upscaler.

I've been quite happy with the PQ on the A35 for deinterlace and upscaling, had one for a bit on loan and it's outstanding. Much better than my standalone upscaling player.

According to folks over at avs who reportedly contacted Toshiba, the A3 and A30 have the same scaler chip. The A35 has a better chip. The XA2 has the best chip.

Yes, an A3 is a very good upconverter and you get nine free HD DVD's with the purchase. This is a no-brainer.

I have two questions:
1. If you only want to watch DVDs why not use your BD player? it can upscale
2. If you buy the player why not also buy the movies that you want on HD DVD(if avail)? The Bourne movies (for example) look FAR better on HD DVD then they do on the best upscaling DVD player.

I have the bd-30 and so far I like the upscaling of the A2 better.
