Default Upscaling vs Streaming Question

OK so if I have a DVD rip on my hard drive, usually I would stream it to my TV with the Xbox Media Center.

If I burned it to a DVD and watched the DVD in an upscaling player would there be a quality difference versus streaming to the 360??

Yah I wondered that myself. I think you're right. If you stream any sort of media, it doesn't use the scaler. If you burn it to the DVD, the upscaler by default kicks in. Seems you should be able to upscale shows without the hassle, but I'm sure if we did that there would be no reason for them to offer HD content. <:-| Personally, I just stream them since anime don't really get that much benefit from upscaling - but for other things I could see this being a must.
