Default My A3 won't play HD-DVD's anymore!

Yesterday, I tried to put in 300 and it wouldn't play. tried Bourne Identity and Sleepy Hollow as well, and they didn't play. Maybe it was because I used a different signal cable, but I'm f**king pissed off.

Someone answer! My warranty is pretty much finished, so I'm screwed if I can't fix it.

I don't get an error code, it just says "This disc isn't DVD format".
It works on regular DVD's, but it won't work on HD ones.

Have you tried calling Toshiba???? Weird that it still reads the dvd side but not the hd side?? Call Toshiba and tell them the problem...they can at least give you some options what you can do. Maybe the laser that reads the disc is going a little flaky on you.

I while back I hear of this happening when people upgraded their firmware and then downgraded it. This was caused by the newer firmware also updating the firmware on the drive and the older one changing the player firmware back which is now not compatable with the newer drive firmware. I hope that makes sence. If you have done this then all you need to do is upgrade the firmware again.

If you didn't you may have had a bad flash. You can try it again or wait for the next firmware version. Can you give us some specifics as to what version of firmware you are running etc. and if you have flashed it resently ?

I tried again and it works now. I'll update this thread if it happens again.

I just update my firmwar to 1.3 and put in a disc and it wouldn't read, so I took the disc out and went to the setup menu, then maintenance then I selected initialize, exited the menu, put the disc in again and no problem loading this time. Hopefully this new firmware takes care of the glitches/ audio drops and freezing.

INITIALIZE is the answer if the firmware seems to upgrade properly but you still have an issue.
