Default A-35 do Component VID and HDMI audio ?

Title. Basicly I have a friend that has a HDMI reciever but a component tv. He wants the HD audio formats via HDMI but his tv only accepts component. His PS3 works this way and wanted to know if the A-35 does this too ?

Anyone have it working this way ?

What kind of receiver does he have, couldn't he just run the hdmi into the receiver, and a component cable from the receiver to his tv.
