Default Can we look forward to resume play in future firmware updates?

Or is this something that has to do with the discs that make this impossible? I'm sure that this question has been asked before. Now we are on our 3rd generation of hd players and it's pretty dumb that Toshiba still hasn't found a way to implement this. I'm a busy guy and just like to watch movies while I'm cooking or doing something else. The player takes long enough to boot back up, let alone having to search scenes for where I left off.

It is mildly annoying. I've heard that it is able to resume, but it requires the manufacturers *of the disc* to use it.

Again, this is based off memory...and it's been awhile since I've seen info related to this. So, I'm probably extremely wrong.

My Toshiba A3 says it can resume unless the disc has "advanced content" as denoted by the "ADV" icon that lights up on the player. EVERY HD DVD has advanced content.

This is one of the things I hate most about HD DVD. I rarely have the time to sit through an entire disc from beginning to end. I truly hope future firmware can fix it.

I am learning to hit the "B" button to bookmark the placement before switching sources, but lack of resume is another weakness in this technology.
