Default Need help with my HD-A2

I was in the middle of watching 'SuperMan Returns' and the movie just froze. I assume this is because it's scratched (a rental from Blockbuster). However, my Toshiba HD-A2 went to a black screen and gave me the following error code: 408bc504

Has anyone ever seen this error before? I just wanna make sure it's a disc problem rather than a hardware problem. I already sent notification to Blockbuster about this disc. I just hate these dual sided discs because they come all scratched up. I'm very careful with the HD DVDs I own and never scratch them, but others aren't as careful I presume.

Any help would be appreciated. I tried calling Toshiba, but they're closed No 24/7 support

Also, is there a new firmware update for the HD-A2?
I just got mine on January 12th, so I have no clue?

Thanks-

It might be a defective copy.

I had the same problem with SR at the same chapters so it might be a defect during encoding. However, I watched it again and did not freeze.

Thanks for the replies.

I reported the issue and Blockbuster is sending another copy out already. It sucks cause I was really into the movie. I can't remember what chapter it froze on, but I remember it was at the 1:17 mark.

Yup, my first copy stuttered around 1:15:16. I exchanged it for a different one from Best Buy and the 2nd one works fine.
