Default Well I finally went red with an HD-A3.

I bought an HD DVD player a couple of days ago with already having a Blu Ray player in my PS3. There were so many movies I wanted on HD DVD that I bought like 300(better version), The Bourne Identity, Transformers, Batman Begins, and Troy: Director's Cut.

I still have to pick up the rest of the Bourne Trilogy and the Matrix Trilogy as well. Transfomers is a definete demo material, I'm having my friend come over next weekend to watch it. It's a big a step up from DVD, it's amazing how my normal TV speakers feel like surround sound. My Sharp Aquos has Virtual Dolby Surround Sound and I could feel the base from every explosion in the movie.

I bought it for $288 here in Canada, it's a bit expensive over the US price, but I got sick of waiting for the retailers to finally push the price of it down.

Default red and blu

Welcome to all you can get at this point in time.

I got the A3 first, then my BD10A second.

Director's Cut on Troy is great. It's too bad
this wasn't the theatrical cut as well.

have fun !

congrats on the purchase... i was exact oposite... i had hd dvd first, then i saw movies like rocky balboa and casino royale and potc on blu and i got both... I love having both... and i laugh at sony fanboys because they are the worst with being bated by the sony/disney propoganda... what else is on your to buy list on hd dvd? check what i have for some ideas. you can actually buy the lord of war hd dvd import (a little more fun and exotic to have imports cheap) for the same cost as the blu ray domestic on amazon. did you know porn comes almost exclusivly on hd dvd?

I'm probably going the same route as you, but I'm leaning towards the A2. So what does the A3 have over the A2? I see a lot of HD movies, that I wanted to watch, but couldn't. I still leans Blu-ray, but I have no problem with eirther format.

How do you get HD DVD firmwares without being conected to the internet?
