Default HD-A3 error

Anyone know where I can get a list of these error codes? Within 30 minutes the disc will not play due to error 408bc504.

edit: whatever it was seems to have subsided. Still would like to know what that problem was though.

I don't know where there is a list of error codes, but I do know that error code is a disc read error. Check discs carefully - I sometimes find a filmy residue on brand new discs that discwasher solution gets rid of handily.

I bought my A3 Friday. I was getting that error. I called Toshiba and they said I needed to update my firmware. I updated the player and it works great! Have you updated your firmware yet? Mine was version 1.0 out of the box. The current version is 1.1.

Hope this helps.....

I just connected my player to my router. There is a jack on the back of the player for doing this. It is a long slow process, took about 40 minutes. Just follow the instructions in the manual for doing this.

You can also burn the latest firmware to a CD using your computer. You must have software that will allow you to burn an ISO image to do this. You can get the firmware update at the Toshiba website.

You can also call Toshiba and they will send you an update disk.

Hope this helps,

Mike

If you do not read instructions- like moi- after you put in the ethernet info you have to turn the player off before it is active.

Ok. I wont have this hooked up to the internet. Just a simple bedroom set-up. So I'll do the CD-R method.
