Default Sound question

My TV has 6 speakers built-in, but I don't have a fancy surround sound system or a subwoofer yet. Will the sound be lowered to fit my tv, or will I still get the full amount of sound that you're supposed to have?

Anyone? Also, Smokin' Aces is the first title I plan on buying, I've heard it has some issues with second-gen players, so will it work fine on the A2?

Well, you for certain won't get the full effect. In a 5.1 surround sound system you have L & R front speakers, center, sub-woofer, and L&R Surround. A 6.1 system adds a Center rear; 7.1 adds L&R rear. The speakers are positioned to give you the full effect in your listening position. With all the TV speakers in front of you, they can't replicate the surround effect.

As to if you will get the full "amount of sound" - how will you be connecting the player to your TV - HDMI for both audio & video? In that scenario, the player will decode all audio and send it to your TV as PCM, so the TV speakers will play them to their best ability. If you connect the audio to your TV with optical, then optical doesn't have the bandwidth to carry Dolby Digital Plus or TrueHD, and the player will downmix those audio codecs if selected on the disc menu.

I'll be using HDMI.
