Talking i have a problem i think?

i bought a hd-dvd player hd-a20 it was an out of box sale at best buy it did not come with a remote control but i ordered one from toshiba the thing is i cant get no picture on the tv threw componet cables.my tv only can get up to 1080i and i think the problem is that the player is in 1080p mode which it says on the front screen of the player.and i cant change it with out the remote.can anyone tell me if they think that might be the problem becauce it work at best buy when it was on there tv but it was threw hdmi cable.i have 30 days to return it but dont wont to if that all the problem is i got the hd-a20 for only $165.99 and not a mark on it. ill return if i have to and get the hd-a30 but is there any differance in the players besides looks

boot it up without a disc in it.

Go to setup.

It should then let you change the options.

If you can't make it work why would you buy an A30 if your TV is 1080i. Get an A3 or A2.

Talking i will be buying a new tv

in 2 months a samsung 50inch 1080p flat panel so iam buying in advance i guess.
