When using NERO:

1) Use a CD-R disk.
2) Write Speed: Choose the lower speed
3) Write Method: Choose Disk-at-once

This is an ISO file so you have to select ISO file somewhere in nero when you're making your disk.

Look on the web for a program called Active ISO Burner. That's what I use and never have a issue with firmware updates burning and loading, but make sure you use a cd-r or cd-rw. Blank DVD's will not work.

I updated my A-2 using a disk burned with Deep Burner. Worked like a charm. I popped the disk in and it came right up and asked me if I would like to update. It took about 15 min. from start to finish.

I have heard that the update is available on the Toshiba servers now so the ethrnet port download should work as well.

Edited for spelling.

I use this program now too since for whatever reason..my nero would come up with an error message burning the file...make sure you extract all from the zip file..then open folder to expose the contents and you will see the iso file that is what you need to burn ..not the whole folder..and definitely not the zip file....active iso burner is great and free

Call Toshiba @ 1-800-319-6684 and tell them your having trouble and you need the firmware update disc. You will receive it in about 3 to 4 business days. Also, they will send new updates as they happen.

Use a cdr.

I get the feeling you're burning the iso immage on the dvd instead of selecting the proper options and makeing a disk from the iso immage.
