Default Important HD-A2 Question

I have an important question concerning the HD-A2 or HD in general. I purchased the A2 yesterday, and i'm deciding where to put it. I have a 37" Sharp Aquos 1080i television, where my XBOX 360 add on lives, but currently not working due to my XBOX 360 getting the red lights on me, and in repairs.

I also have a 1080i projector in my basement, which already look FANTASTIC on normal DVDs, and it's not even upconverted. So do you think if I installed my player there I would see a difference? Any others tried HD on thier projectors? Or should I just put it with my 37" LCD tv.

I would much rather put it with my projector, but if the quality wasn't a real improvement to standard DVDs on a projector I really don't want to go through the hassle of setting it up there.

I just want to know anyone's opinions. Thanks.

Also, does the A2 come with the latest firmware?

Well I finally decided to try it out on the projector, and the quality was AMAZING.

Guess you got your answer while the rest of us were watching football.

I don't think there is a firmware upgrade for the A2 yet, btw.

Yes, but keep in mind that the firmware for the A2 is different than the firmware for the A1. (At least that's my understanding from reading other posts on the subject.)

atouk,You're right, the update is for HD-A1,HD-XA1,HD-D1 only .

The A2 and later A1/XA1's (since October '06) ALREADY has the latest update from Toshiba.

The A2 is rumored to receive later another update from 1080i to 1080p. This won't happen, if at all, until the next new player (Toshiba HD DVD A20 ) is released later in the spring of '07.

Just got the A2 a while ago it is big step up from the A1 my friend owns the A1 and it takes forever to load and is big and bulky. while the a2 is slim and sleek also loading takes about 5-7 seconds which is very quick. The A2 is a very nice hd player plus it hooks up with hdmi which is a plus as hdmi will provide the best possible picture plus it has an optical output which is great for the surround sound.
