Default Writable HD-DVD media question.

This topic is being discussed in a thread on the Smackdown forum. I felt I should ask in here, where the pros should be.

Apparently, a writable BD-50 disc only has about 45GB of usable data on it when you are using it in a home BD writer.

Can anyone confirm how much space is usable on a writable HD15 or HD30 disc when using a HD-DVD writer in a home computer?

Aurora has a good explanation of this at http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=17953
It should be for HD-DVD,
30 GB ==> 27.93 GiB
51 GB ==> 47.49 GiB
But I have not personally confirmed this on actual HD DVD disc, however she is correct on other media such as hard drives, so I have no reason to think she is wrong
