Default Problem with A-2

Hi guys, i've been having a small problem with my HD-A2. For some reason when i watch a SD DVD on it to upconvert, it tells me that the resoplutino has been restricted to 420p. I though it might only be specific discs but it seems to be all the ones i've tried so far. Also on certain burnt DVD's it does this weird thing of almost skipping back a few seconds in the disc every 20 minutes or so. It gets kinda annoying. Anybody else have any problems like these and any suggestions on how to fix it? The Player IS connected via HDMI as other people have told me that it won't up-convert through Component. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Something in your connection chain may not be HDCP compliant. Like say an older model HDTV or something. Not too knowledgeable here but I have heard this sort of thing addressed before and often times the problem lies in not all the components being HDCP compliant. Good luck! L8rz!

could this be a problem with the type of HDMI cable that's being used with the Player? The TV itself is a brand new 55" Hitachi Plasma so i don't think it would be that (hopefully).

It may have to do with a resolution setting on your set. Can you choose what resolution you want your set to output at? try changing it between 1080i and 720p etc. if your set will allow. also try different settings on the player. Maybe some quirk arose which will reset. There should be no issue with the cable itself.

This isn't a "problem," but I didn't want to create a new thread over this.

If I power down the A-2 in the middle of a movie and then turn it back on later, how do I resume the movie from where I left off? It seems to want to start from the beginning every time I try.

With HD-DVD they didn't make them to resume if you stop the movie, why, I have no idea. But most HD movies support the bookmark feature. Where if you make a bookmark you can start back up the movie and select it from the scene selections (i know its a bit of a pain) but if you really have to stop the movie, its better than finding your spot all over again
