$1000? Too expensive.

What's it do? Wash my dishes? Soap my carpet? Vacuum the sand? AND play movies?

From the early reports I've read on AVS, this is an excellent piece of hardware. I'm happy with my 360 drive (for now), but I will definitely look at this (or the XA3 ) in the future when the price drops.

Nice I am actually thinking about getting this as we might take our Pioneer PDP 5060 and put it in the basement and we might get the new Pioneer Elite Pro FHD1 1080p Plasma for our living room. If we go that route then I am upgrading to this player on the same day we buy the TV. Only problem is the TV is around 8 grand which is a little expensive for me. I was hoping it would come down to around 6,500 and then I could use a 12% off coupon from Best Buy and it would end up being around 5800. I am betting it drops a little bit by March or June so I think we will wait a little longer.

Its easy to wait as the PDP5060 is stunning in itself, we just want to replace or SD TV in the basement so the logical choice is upgrade to 1080p and move the PDP5060 down in the basement. I saw the Pioneer Elite model at Best Buy a few weeks back and it is the best picture I have ever seen before by any company and including all different types of TV's and projectors. The Image is STUNNING! I just cant image this HDTV with the new HD-XA2!! I need to see the reviews on it first but its looking like thats the route we are going to take.

OC..

Why not go front projection? The Panny 1080p projector goes for $3999.

This is better suited in the 'HD DVD Hardware General Discussion' forum.

Like I said, its the best picture I have ever seen period including all of the projectors I have seen and demo'ed. This HDTV OWNS everything and I want it bad. I will wait till it comes down a little bit in price tho before jumping on it. I prefer the New Plasmas. The just have a much richer image quality IMO specially the new ones that just hit market like the one I am referring to. I was so speechless when I saw Batman Begins playing on this set that I almost purchased it right there without even saying a word.
