Does anyone know what firmware 2.1 adds for the G2 players? It''s up on the Toshiba Canada site for download. I guess I'll try it out when i get home tonight.

Just tried an update, in canada, both via the net, and via the d-load link. In both cases my A20 says i'm up to date with 2.0, wierd because even the iso i d-loaded wont update anything

Update:

Finally got my A20 to update. The problem seems to be that these iso's really need to be burned at VERY low speeds, I would suggest no more than 1x to 8x.

I tried to update via ethernet and got a message saying "The software has already been updated. The update process will end."

My current version is 2.0/T22T

I have an HD-XA2.

Here you go folks:

Toshiba HD DVD Firmware ISO Downloads - Canadian Site
Toshiba HD DVD Firmware ISO Downloads - American Site

Current Versions:

HD-A1 -- Firmware update 2.3 Date: July 3, 2007
HD-XA1 - Firmware update 2.3 Date: July 3, 2007
HD-A2 -- Firmware update 2.1 Date: July 30, 2007
HD-A20 - Firmware Update 2.1 Date: July 30, 2007
HD-XA2 - Firmware update 2.1 Date: July 30, 2007

Note: If your model is a Toshiba HD-D2 then all you need is the HD-A2 firmware. Likewise, if your model is a Toshiba HD-D1 you'll simply need the HD-A1 firmware.

ISO Burning Software: There is a FREE version of DeepBurner that will burn ISO images. Click here to download. Since the firmware filesize is relatively small, please be sure to burn at a slow speed. This can often ensure a solid, error-free burn.

I updated my XA2 and A2 to 2.1 without any problems. I burned the ISO image with NEro at 16X speed(the slowest speed nero lets me burn) and it worked fine for me.

The firmware update did not fix the problem with "The Host" freezing.

The firmware on my HD-XA2 is now 2.1 and the freezing still occurs.
