Talking HD A2 or 360 add on

I am trying to decide on wether to move to a stand alone player. Would the HD A2 be a good move if I already have the 360 add on? I only have a 1080i TV and have no plans on getting a 1080p TV anytime soon. Thanks for any help on this.

It's HD A2 by the way. Anyway, I just bought a HD A2 and sold my Xbox 360 add on in ebay. If you are concerned about Dolby TrueHD and DD+ and you have a receiver that supports HDMI audio then you definitely want the HD A2 because the add on won't give you any audio better than DTS. If all you are concerned about is PQ then stay with the add on. I can't tell any difference what so ever in PQ between the A2 and the add on. They both have excellent PQ.

Get the HD-A2. I used to have the add on and then my 360 broke and I had to send it in and I could not watch any hd-dvds so I went out and bought the hd-a2 for $300. Very happy with my choice.

that is why i bought the a20 lol, its a back up but also my default player. I use the add on just to show people on my friends list i have the hd dvd player lol. Its also good because a few people went out and bought either the add on or the toshiba models just because i have a hd dvd player and i tell them that the movies are amazing looking and sound great!!!!

Get the A2...don't get me wrong, the 360 HD add on is a very good player, BUT, overall, its nice to see a standalone player sitting in your entertainment center than a small, white add on. Also, dont forget the amazing job the A2 does on upconverting standard dvd's to near HD quality, something the 360 add on does not do.

A2 all the way. 360 add on is a good choice and for $200 its a steal...but now that stand alones are starting to get cheaper, you should get the A2. The A2 has excellent dvd upconversion capabilities as well.
