Default HD-XA2 Questions

My Dad and I recently purchased a brand new Panasonic PT-AE1000U projector (it'll be here Monday!) and I told him if he paid for the PJ I'd buy a new HD DVD player. Anyway, I know that the XA2 has had some LFE issues over the 5.1 analog outputs, and that is my main reason for wanting to purchase the XA2 over the A20 or A2. Our Yamaha receiver does have 5.1 channel inputs, so I'd be able to get superior sound directly from the HD DVD player. Have these issues been fixed or are they being worked on? Can anyone explain to me exactly what the problem is? If this is something that's an issue, would you suggest possibly trying to find a used HD-A1 or HD-XA2 instead? Why or why not?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Under optical out digital audio setting, click PCM instead of bitstream. this will fix the analog out lfe problem, however if u r using optical, you will have to switch every time.

Thanks - I won't be using optical, just the analog audio out.

Does the LFE sound totally normal once the 'fix' is applied?
