Default Star Trek: TOS phaser remote offer still good till 2/29

Now that many of you have been buying spare players, here's a thought. Amazon has ST: TOS for $97.49, which is not a bad price at all for this set. It also has a good chance of being collectible, since for one, Toshiba was paying for the remastering and encoding and they've of course stopped. Also, even if/when it comes out on Blu-ray, it will be unique in several ways (HDi special features, combos, packaging). Finally, you qualify for a free (actually, $8 shipping) Phaser Remote if you buy it by the end of this month. This remote has been selling on Ebay for between $125 and $150.

So it's just a heads up for anyone interested, as the deal ends soon. You'll just need:

1) proof of purchase of an HD DVD player from between 11/1/07 and 2/29/08

2) original rebate form in the ST: TOS set, and the receipt showing purchase by 2/29/08

Mail it all in with $7.95 S&H postmarked no later than 3/31/08.

Bought one

I just bought mine for $109 at Amazon, but that is with one-day shipping. I checked the price at Best Buy and it is $132, so I'm still saving $23 and the price of gas, LOL! Since I bought my A3 on November 22nd, I will order the remote as soon as my discs get here.

Thanks for posting this!!

Though I highly question what you're doing in the HD DVD section of the forum, I will tell you that both I, and my buddy have received our Phasers from Paramount(in the same week even). It did *not* take 6 to 8 weeks either, more like 2 and half to 3.

I received my HD DVD Star Trek Phaser Remote two days ago. Works as promised. But, the buttons are so small and hard to read it's pretty much useless as a truly useful remote. It will make a nice bit of decoration in the home theater room though.

Does anyone think this box set will drop below the current Amazon price?

It's possible, but if you buy it after March 1st, you won't qualify for the Phaser offer (if you were interested).

I am interested in the remote as I feel it would add to the collectibility of the set. I may buy and never open any of it though I would like to see the season in HD. I am pulling the trigger on Amazon tonight. Go Vols beat Memphis!!!!!!

Just make sure you have a proof of purchase for an HD DVD player from 11/15 to 2/29 as well to send in.
