Default anybody supporting both formats and loving both?

I have been a HD DVD supported since last August. It has been great so far and I have loved the titles. I've decided to buy a Samsung BD player with my tax refund. I really love film and have loved Hi Def so far and really do not care to choose sides. Both formats seem to be high quality film viewing and to get worked up over it all is silly. Is anyone else neutral and enjoying it? I really just want serious NON BASHING feedback. I've already purchased my first BD Disc THE PRESTIGE and plan on buying a few more with in the next couple of weeks.

I'm planning my disc buying in this manner.

HD DVD:

Universal (Obviously)
Weinstein (Obviously)
Paramount
Warner Bros.

BLU RAY:

Fox (Obviously)
Disney (Obviously)
Sony (Obviously)

Looking forward to it all.

Welcome to the band of brothers. There is not a lot of us. Most of the people around here LOVE to argue. A lot of times it appears as if it's more important than breathing to them.

I own the HD-DVD A1 and the Sony BDP-1....

Though I tend to buy HD DVD when it comes to movies released in both formats, I've bought a few films that are Blu-Ray exclusive.

Its nice having the option to play both formats.

I'm not into arguing and there seem to be benefits from both formats. I intend to be partial to both and enjoy both. Ford and Chevy exist in the same world, so why can't HD DVD and BLU RAY? Thanks guys.

Absolutely right. And it's not that Blu-Ray and HD-DVD can't co-exist. It's the rabid fanboi's that can't.

I have both right now and like you I was on HD DVD first (back in June, I think). Picked up another HD DVD player when it was under $300, and just last month picked up a PS3 for BR.

HD DVD seems more consistant in PQ. Some of this is that I have just started my BR viewing, so I have seen older movies like Stargate that just suck. Flat out sucks. But then there are gems like Gridiron Gang that look great! I have not had the same experience with HD DVD. Most look atleast very good. Heck, even Fast Times looked good to me.

I think it will be like Xbox/PS -- both with co-exist for a while, with one being slightly more popular than the other. And rabid fan boys on each side.

I have been reading some of the BD reviews so I can get an idea of what I should get sooner than later. Does anyone have The Brothers Grimm? There does not seem to be a review posted yet for that title on BD. I'm pre-ordering Casino Royale and Layer Cake on BD, in addition to Children of Men on HD DVD. It is great to have choices and I am truly looking forward to what both Hi Def formats are going to offer this year. Any other feedback good or bad on BD transfers would be great. Thanks again everyone.

I will definitely buy a BD player. I am just waiting for BD-J to be enabled and know which players will be able to use all of its features from the get go. I can spend $1500 or up but the machine better do ALL that the BD spec allows including all BD-J features.
