I have a word of advice to those with an old 20GB PS3. Upgrade your hard drive. Sure, thatís four words, but you get the point...

...Gamers everywhere were up in arms when they found out that Devil May Cry 4 needed 5GB of space just to play the game. Now this need for space is becoming quite the trend. While Haze isnít quite going to eat up a full 5GB, it will still need 4.

Honestly, I donít see developers getting off of this train, so you might as well upgrade your drive...
I didn't see this posted yet, so I thought I'd mention it.

Mandatory installs... yuck. Seems to be the growing trend...

It was in Kickingtotalass's topic about Metal Gear's rumored install. But yeah, another reason to not get this game!

If it get rid of load times I'm all for it. GTA for the PS3 is great without load times. I still remember how long it used to take in the old resident evil games to change rooms. Those days were awful.

I'm sure it was always mandatory installs suck. It's different when you are asked, versus being forced.

Well, I wouldn't say that GTA IV on the PS3 is load-time "free." It might reduce the load times, but they still pop up on occasion, usually when setting up cut-scenes, or very briefly when you enter a safe house with an elevator. But I would agree that aside from the usual Rockstar torturous wait to actually start PLAYING the game (and I still haven't found Lola, the lollipop licking hooker, is she even in the game? I found her records in the LCPD criminal database and they say she hangs around Star Junction) the hard drive does a good job of cutting down the waiting time, and keeping the pop up under control, though even that is not perfect.

well of course a mandatory sucks, since most of us 360 owners either don't have a hdd, or a measly 20gb hdd with 18gb of free space.
