Default Armored Core 4: 360 vs PS3 comparison

Quote:
With this Tuesday's release of Armored Core 4 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, GameTrailers decided to put together a visually informative graphics comparison video. After watching their comparison, one thing that is noticeably different between the 360 and PS3 versions is that the 360 version is much darker where as the PS3 version is more white washed. Sometimes the 360 version is way too dark, but sometimes the PS3 version looks like a snow storm ... it's a give and take. Though, we feel the two versions are nearly identical in some respect, we fully expect someone to pick apart each frame to see which version does better lighting, textures, and anti-aliasing.

I don't understand why you can't just adjust the brightness up or down on your television. The side by side video comparison is pretty cool and they look about equal in graphics to me.

I'm not sure. I like mech games, if they are done right. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of crap titles in the genre. I would wait to read the reviews and play the demo on XBL, before you put your hard-earned cash down on the game.

I prefer the PS3 version by looking at it, simply because it's brighter. In the XB360 ones, it seems like you can't see a lot of the landscapes and other things. This really brings down the quality, as well as makes it a pain to play (one would assume).

Otherwise, they look the same.

As for if this game is any good, it seems a bit better than average but i wouldn't know.

If you can get to set-up a Japanese profile, you can play the XBL demo of Armored Core 4. Personally though, I don't think it's anything special.

Does it really look that dark in game? Or is it just poor quality capture?

Looking at the PS3 and the Xbox 360 comparison, after I've had a quick go on the AC4 demo, I have to say, yes it is that dark. There is no option to change the brightness in the demo game, but I think that's something you might see in the full game (I hope).

Well both versions got a 5.9 from IGN so it doens't look like it's worth it either way.
