That was Starbreeze right? Didn't a chunk of that team break off and start Machine Games, the team that did Wolfenstein?

Yea. I really thought Starbreeze would surpass Valve's efforts to further the FPS. They came close. Really close during several moments of The Darkness 1.

I know EA sucks and all, but did you play Syndicate? That was a pretty kick ass Starbreeze shooter.

Syndicate deserved better. Starbreeze and Machine Games are both great developers that formed up in the old days of the Quake MOD scene. Lot of talent.

if it wasn't lumped into the syndicate brand and instead treated as a new IP it probably would have fared much better

I think you're confusing Machine Games with Splash Damage. Machine Games formed out of Starbreeze.

I'm not confusing anything. I realize Machine Game is formed by developers from Starbreeze, they're two separate companies at this point.

Right, but Machine Games didn't form up in the "old days." They formed out of another entity. So...yea.

I guess it would have been more accurate for me to say it was formed by Doom/Quake modders from the "old days", which is what I was implying.

Here's a blast from the past. Sony just showed off the cover for the upcoming Wipeout collection, designed to throw anybody back to the 90s.

It doesn't affect me, as I'll be buying it digitally anyway, but I do wonder whether the North American release will get a similar cover, or will they find a way to show of some hover racer's back, as his head tilts slightly to kind'a, sort'a look at the camera, or go with the full frontal shot, holding a gun, chin down, eyes up, while hover racers are just barely visible somewhere in the background, mostly hidden by explosions.

That is a pretty great PS1 looking cover. I didn't have many of the large case PS1 games just Loaded, Descent, and MK3.
