HD DVD got a big boost today, big thanks to Sony!
With the official announcement of the upcoming PS3 price drop, its obviously a desperation move on Sonys part, and I think its a big boost to HD-DVD. We all know if PS3 fails (which so far it is), Blu Ray will go down with it. No PS3 success, no BR success its as simple as that. I think more people who were on the fence before will now jump on 360 gaming and go the HD-DVD route for movies. Because why would anyone want to support a company whos product is literally sinking faster than the titanic did? Discuss.

I'd say if there's any window to PS3 being tied to Blu-ray's success it is quickly closing. Prices are dropping fast on standalones and movies are selling like hotcakes. I think that this alone will get Sony moving on getting gaming for PS3 into the fastlane.

@OP,
Yes, I am sure that HD DVD/Toshiba are jumping for joy now that more people will be owning PS3's/Blu-Ray players  That would be like saying that HD DVD sales would decline if Microsoft added an HD DVD player in the 360....... What a ridiculous thread...
