Guys you can argue all you want about how the console is selling but I have seen the lack of sales first hand. CompUSA, Wal-Mart, BestBuy, EB...all have them and everyone I have talked to says they are not selling that well.
Anyway, I just ran into this......

CES: Sony ships 1mil PS3s in NA, targets 6mil worldwide by March '07

SCEA's Senior Vice President of Marketing, Peter Dille, took the stage at Sony's CES press conference to announce that Sony has met their goal of shipping 1 million PlayStation 3s in North America before the end of the year, in addition to imposing another goal on themselves: 6 million worldwide by March 2007. Even though they remind us that the PS3 reached 1 million units shipped (not sold) faster than either the PS1 or PS2 we still think hitting 6 million units is ambitious. To put things in perspective, the Xbox 360 sold 1.5 million units worldwide in its first holiday season, with 900K sold in North America.

as for the ps3 not selling good why is every online retailer sold out or force a $1000.00 bundle
Again, good luck with that time machine.

The PS3 will NEVER catch the 360. Even if they sold TWICE as many PS3s as 360s every month for a year, they'd STILL trail (hint: that'll never happen).

The PS3 is simply too expensive and doesn't have as many good games as the competition.

Again, Sony needs to play up the "cheap blu-ray player" angle. I haven't seen that advertised yet.

It's amazing how well the 360 is selling with basically no Japanese Market. Thans for pointing that out.

Did someone pull out the Japan card?

Whenever MS haters feel threatened by the XBOX they scream "Bu, bu, but JAPAN! JAPAAAAAAAAAN!!"

Even Japanese developers realize that the Japanese market isn't nearly as important as the North American and European markets. I'm sure Capacom aint cryin in the cornflakes over the performance of their 360 games.

10.4 million is a vary small amount when you take in to account the ones sitting in stores and the ones sold out side US they have only sold 6 or 7 million in the US.

$1000 bundle? What are you smoking? All the $750-$890 bundles do is show how expensive owning a PS3 truly is.

The console, and one game, and one controller easily pushes it to the $700+ mark

Circuit City 60 GB $599

Best Buy bundle, which costs less than buying everything separately Cheaper to buy the bundle than everything separetly

Another Best Buy PS3, but just the console!

Plus if I didn't want to buy one online I could just walk to my local Wal-Mart where they have had five 60 GB models and one 20 GB models for the past few days. No $1000 bundles at Gamestop either, but I don't feel like posting more links

Huh? No 10 million is a small amount? And "ones sitting in stores"? So Sony is doomed now?

And ones sold outside the U.S. So those don't count now?

What the hell are you trying to say?

Remember, for Sony fanboys the only market that matters is Japan! Since Japan's population is only 40% of the United States they definetly hold more sway than the United States!

yes 10 million is shittastic amount its not even as good of sales as xbox one or gamecube do I even need to bring up playstation one or 2 sales numbers, it needs to sell almost another 14 million to pass xbox 1 and with out a drop in price I just don't see that happen any time soon.

10 million isn't great. That's because it costs 300 - 400 to buy an XBOX 360. That is why PS3 at 500 - 600 has a much lower chance of selling that much.
