Well they won't have much of a choice pretty soon - at least people who don't have cable. They turn off analog SD signals in late 2008 to early 2009 I, so they're going to either have to get a converter, or buy a new television.

The government is subsidizing and practically giving away digital-conversion boxes so people can keep using there old televisions. No need to switch.

I agree, however the TVs are flying off shelves, Best Buy and the B&Ms are laughing all the way to the bank.....Millions are converting to HD and that will be the standard very shortly.......

Sorry Mac, just checked the boards today and saw the Warner announcement, and didn't see your post since it got spammed off to the next page.

You are assuming people actually care about what you post. You assume too much.

This has nothing to do with the topic. The analog cutoff affects only those who receive programming over-the-air (rooftop antenna) and don't have a HDTV/SDTV with a built-in turner or a separate tuner.

Just because there is a cutoff for analog, doesn't mean their TV's will stop working. lol

What can I say, everyone likes to watch a train wreck. That explains our fascination with Britney Spears:

Not completely true. There are several gamers that enjoy hd gaming and movies (just look at sites like this and avsforum). People that are on the fence about buying a ps3, such as myself, have a little more incentive to go ahead and buy a ps3.
