Default Ubisoft:Don't have a internet connection? FU!

Quote:
Ubisoft does not have the best history when it comes to invasive—if not downright broken—DRM, but the company's upcoming "solution" to game piracy is much worse than anything we've seen in the past. The gist is simple: every time you want to play your game, it has to phone back to Ubisoft before giving you permission to play. No Internet connection? You're simply out of luck.

While pirates provide the incentive for them to do it, its still Ubisoft that is kicking its customers in the nuts.

You can almost bet that pirates will be the only ones playing those new UBI games @ day 1.

Pirates will have it point to a their own computer instead of UBI and they will play it just fine for them offline and only effect us purchasing crowds. No biggie for me either way if I were to buy this and it was for the PC I'm always online. Who in today's market would buy this but not be online? Steam sells really well and you must connect to steam service to play.

The sense of entitlement among PC gamers still astounds me.

Yeah.. God forbid someone think that they should be able to play the single player portion of a game without a disc in the drive or an active internet connection.. What selfish bastards..

If you don't have an internet connection, then in my opinion, you've already been subjected to a torture far beyond the realm where you could spare any concern for whether or not you can play an Ubisoft video game.

Torture possibly, and yet many of us still get stuck without one while traveling because the only alternative is getting raped by a hotel or mobile internet provider..
