Default New 360 wireless N adapters are out!

So I just received it Friday, and almost instantly noticed I went from 2 bars to 4 bars on my 360. Not sure if anyone was aware they were out as I just found out by accident when checking game date releases at Amazon.

I dunno if it's worth it. I don't really have connection problems.

Yeah, if you don't have a problem on G, it's probably not a big deal, but in DC there are so many people with G networks, phones, etc. that wireless connections are sketchy.

Default Mad Catz offers alternative to Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/ma...networking-ad/

Quote:
Following the release of Microsoft's improved Wireless N Networking Adapter for Xbox 360, Mad Catz has announced its own wireless adapter, which improves upon Microsoft's device in a couple of ways. First, the adapter, essentially an Ethernet bridge, works with the PS3, allowing for the use of the 802.11n standard with Sony's console.

Second, and most importantly, the Mad Catz adapter improves upon the most reviled feature of the Microsoft model: the price. At $79.99 (49.99/59.99 in the UK and Europe), the Mad Catz Wireless-N Gaming Adapter is no impulse buy, but it's exactly twenty dollars better than Microsoft's version. Mad Catz told Joystiq that its device is currently shipping to North American and European retailers and will be available in the company's online store this week.

They still look like some kind of freaky alien device

I never used a XBOX360 wireless network adapter myself. Are those as hard to set up as the wireless PS3 connection?

My bro browsed the XBL when he was at my parents. Although they don't even have set up a wired connection in the guest room and he doesn't own a wireless adapter. It's still a riddle to me. Could it be, that he used my mom's laptop (connected to the local hotspot) as a passthrough?

Well, quite simply, G is good to 54Mbps.....and your internet I can assure you is no faste than that.

N on the other hand is good for 300Mbps and runs in 5Ghz...

G and most others, including microwaves, home wireless phones, bluetooth, cell phones, all run in 2.4Ghz adding to interference.

It helps in distance, and the main draw is inter-network streaming, not internet type stuff. So you want to stream your Media Center HD DVR content to the Xbox upstairs? This is the better solution in the wireless realm.

is there a shot that the G network ones will go for less than $100? i still think that is a ridiculous asking price.
