Default Fallout 3 GotY

Earlier today I was at my local game store and I heard a customer and employee talking about the GotY edition. The customer asked if the game was like the Oblivion GotY where you just needed the disk once to download all of the addons. It sounded like the guy at the store said yes (the store was closing up so I dont see why he would have any reason to lie either way about the game, they didnt have it). Is there any truth to this? Just trying to figure out of I need to buy the GotY or just give my friend $20 for his regular copy and rent the new one.

The Game of the Year Edition includes all of the DLC, but you don't download it I think. It's just preloaded onto the disc. That's 50 dollars worth of content there too

think it's on a second disc. This is how oblivion was handled. It was given a second disc and you load it on the hdd.

PS3 version had just the one Blu-ray disc (but never got ALL the DLC).

I thought they officially announced this a while back? If not, it's no surprise it's coming to retail.

As someone who has recently dumped 80+ hours into this game (almost have the full 1550 points), I encourage anyone interested to buy this game. It's not a perfect title, but it's well worth the price if the GOTY edition will be sold at $60 or below.

Well, it's $50 to get all the DLC.

IDK I think I'm about to plunk down cash for the limited edition and pick up the GOTY version (so I can have the DLC on hard copy) when it drops price. No single game without peripherals has had its way with my wallet like Fallout 3. I bought a PS3 and PC version and already paid for all the DLC as soon as they released. Damn! Talk about cyber crack....

There's a problem with the Canadian PS3 version of the GOTY Edition.

A couple of threads over at Bethesda Softwork's forums reveal that Canadian PS3 owners are having a problem getting their previous Capital Wasteland save files to be recognized by the newly released Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition. Speculation by forum posters about the cause of the issue seems to revolve around either improper/outdated patching or that the GOTY edition isn't compatible with a version of the game sold in the region.

We've been in contact with Bethesda this morning, which is aware of the problem and is currently trying to figure out precisely what the issue is before it makes a statement. We'll update as soon as we learn more.
Unfortunately, being Canadian, I also have this problem of a bum game sitting around that doesn't recognize my saves. Although for some reason at least one person in Sweden is also reporting the problem.
