Default SE talks up FFVII

There's not official project that's up and running for a remake ofFinal Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, 'If we did it it would be like this or like that.'

So, they do talk about it, but there's no official project yet. But there's that PSN release that just came out, so if you could play that for the time being, it should be fun.

I'd like to see it launch next gen, get us FF7: Advent graphics. Until then stop churning out rehashes and get some new shit out!

They're not desperate enough yet. They need to start losing money first.

That or else they're hoping either Microsoft or Sony will out-negotiate each other in their attempts to secure it as a console exclusive. I've kind of lost faith in Squenos. They seem to have forgotten that the best way to make a lot of money is to make a good game.

They're not the only ones.

Any game that features paid loot boxes should be rated AO.

I agree with Squenix but that Eidos Batman game is supposedly solid. But then again they are new to the fold.

I still worry that rpg gamer's a going the way of the dinosaurs.

What has Square released this Generation so far? I'm playing Last Remnant right now and I'm really enjoying it. Did they do Star Ocean?

SE isn't doing too hot in the money department. At least not with games developed in-house.

Probably because the people of the proper caliber of talent to actually do this project don't want to repeat themselves by remaking their own shit, and they want to do new things, instead.

It's like asking James Cameron to remake The Terminator with modern effects and a big budget. Sure, it's probably some geek's dream, but if you're James Cameron, do you REALLY want to do that, instead of actually coming up with something new and interesting?

It's not as simple as "it'll make money... let's do it."
