Default Different D-Pad in newer 360 controllers?

Hey, I picked up this controller at Sam's Club the other day:

http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=414640

The D-Pad in it feels 1,000 times better than my other three (black) 360 controllers.

I remember back when that Fifa controller, or whatever it was, was shipping with a better D-Pad, and there was talks about putting it in the normal 360 controllers.

Just wondering if anyone heard anything about this.

I haven't heard about that one being redesigned, but I heard rumors about the red controller. Nobody really seems to know...

The red controller seemed to have a much better d-pad to me. I also recently bought an Arcade and it came with a better d-pad. I donít think anything changed technically, perhaps there was a slight change in manufacturing or something.

I'm getting the LE Halo 3 ODST controller with the game so i'm assuming it'll have a better d-pad as well.

My red controller is busted (well the A button sticks) after I 1000/1000'd prototype.

Lots of jumping in that game lol.

I guess we might not ever find out. But it would be a good thing if all new controllers in production come with a better D-pad.

And KTA you jerk. lol

I have a red controler(open box for $25), and an arcade that was manufactured about a year ago.

Both the D-Pads feel the same, I still don't see it being funtional for a main control scheme.

Hmm... It'd be nice if it were true but if it really made that much of a difference you'd think someone would have been able to confirm by now.

Must of updated the arcade box ones then, you'd see the difference with the originals....

You might just have some dirt stuck in there. Try opening it up and giving it a good clean (I do this with all my controllers every couple months cause I'm a clean freak, it even fixed a controller that I had spilled Pepsi on).

Is it as simple as taking the 2 screws out?
