It does show some new game play footage and looks like its coming along nicely. Couldn't actually hear the interview because I don't have audio at work. Figured I would post it for anyone else who wants to watch.

This may be dumb but i've not really read much or seen much on bioshock 2 (mainly cuz it looks just like bioshock 1) but from a Joystiq preview i read, do you play this game in the role of a Big Daddy? like the whole game (assumably)?

Yup. You play as the first ever big daddy. And it happens 10 years after the first one.

how can u be the first ever big daddy when it's 10 years after there were a whole mess of big daddys?

like you're the original n have been in hiding or whateveR?

That's all I can think of myself, yeah.

And there are of course other things to consider, like:

1) You can use plasmids, so obviously that's a MAJOR difference between this Big Daddy and the "mass production" models so that's likely a prototyping sort of rational.

2) You as the player are obviously in control as well, and so can do whatever you want, meaning that (at least in theory) you're smarter than the average Big Daddy and not merely limited to escorting Little Sisters around. So again, this would imply that first Big Daddy was allowed to retain his intelligence, another bit of "functionality" that was removed from subsequent models.

So my guess is that this first Big Daddy was probably put through its paces, they decided that plasmid use and intellect were unnecessary and then he was "mothballed" away in cryogenic suspension, presumably to be forgotten forever until now, when Tenebaum for whatever reason conveniently remembers he's tucked away and revives him for whatever the goal in this game is.

Pure speculation on my part, but it seems reasonable.

Fans of shooters Call of Duty 4 and Killzone 2 are well aware of rewards-based systems similar to what BioShock 2 is offering. However, if 2K Marin can make the prequel story elements work, this could become a very unique multiplayer experience.

Doesn't sound like a bad premise. If it's like COD4 where you gain XP to unlock perks, weapons, and ranks it could be fun. I think MP achievements only leads to boosting.
