Default Repaired 360s with Jasper confirmed

I just got my elite back from repair for the RROD. Before even hooking up the system to Xbox live I started it up.

It comes with the new Dashboard on it. This means that the repaired/refurbed system has an internal memory, also known as the jasper board (I think, unless it's the falcon I am thinking of)

Just thought I would let you know. This thing (from just the sound) runs a heck of a lot better.

Well the new dashboard would have been on your xbox HDD if you had it installed previously, and then hooked it up to the new one u got back by mail. So not sure if it's a surefire way to know. Check the amp voltage or whatever. New ones are supposed to use like 12 amps or something, which i guess is less then what they used to use

Well I tested it without the HDD installed, and without any connection to Xbox live. I always do this with the repaired ones to make sure it doesn't RROD right away, and to make sure they repaired it correctly.

And the console hass a new serial number.

ah well check the sticker by the power outlet on the console 2 see what ampage or voltage or whatever it is. That's the surefire way to make certain if it's a jasper or whatever the newest-build with internal memory is.

Not that I doubt you, but it is worth noting that MS always just replaces your console with a "new" (refurbished) one.... They don't bother with making you wait for them to fix yours.

Well according to the letter, it was my repaired system. In previous letters they told me that "We're sorry we couldn't repair your system, so we sent you a new one."

This letter was "We have repaired your xbox per temrs of warranty..."

check by the serial number for 12.1 va

That should tell you if it's a Jasper.

Also if you go to the memory on the system it will have HDD & internal listed seperately like on mine.

So that way you'll know if you have internal memory. Great news if true, mines been running smooth as silk.

You got a refurb, hence the new serial number. It may be a fixed Jasper that had the E74...

Thought I read somewhere that the 175w adapter meant you had one of the newer chipsets. I picked up a new arcade console this past weekend and it was 175w.

Edit: Read it on yahoo answers for all it's worth: http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question...8005821AA81gZo
