Default PS3 eSATA adapter

http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/...e-hdd-storage/

I have a 320GB in my ps3 now. So I don't really need the space but I would actually be interested in something like this down the road. Anyone else interested in this?

Looks like too much of a hassle, to me.

You still have to open up the HDD part of the console, so why not just swap in a new hard-disc drive? I doubt, I myself would ever need more than 500GB.

I just wouldn't mind having another TB to throw movies on. Plus If I have a choice I would always opt to install the game to the hard drive. Besides their are tons of mandatory installs anyway. I don't know. More space isn't a bad thing nowadays.

Well, the question is, will it even work with such high capacity?

Isn't the PS3 somewhat limited to 500GB, at max?

I use an external USB drive for that.

The advantage is that you can use any size hard drive, not just 2.5". This means that you can buy 3.5" drives, which are cheaper and much faster (10,000 RPM anyone?). Not only that, but you can buy larger storage sizes. 1TB+ of space.

How do you format a 1tb USB drive into FAT32 format? I was under the impression that you couldn't.

Back on topic, I would definitely pick up this adapter if it's real! You could get 10,000rpm 8mb cache drives, you could get larger drives, PLUS SATA is hot-swappable so it'd be very easy and convenient to plug in and remove(for example, theoretically you could plug your hard drive into your computer, copy over your hundreds of gigs of music and video, and simply plug it into the PS3 and it's there.
